It is amazing what a win can do for the psyche. And this wasn’t just a win, it was a dominating win. Though the Hornet offense still looked anemic until Coogler’s 75 yard dash, they eventually would rack up 400+ yards and the defense stifled the Jacks. Who woud have thought the second stringers would play in the 4th quarter?
The 6,000 plus in attendance also pleasantly suprised me. Also interesting to note that the radio crew acknowledged fans in attendance who had taken a four year hiatus. Welcome back.
The Bee also had a decent article Saturday on the program and its direction. I will have more comments on that later. But for now, enjoy the win. Wallow and roll around in it. Savor it. And, let us expect more.
Also, Sperbeck continues to demonstrate he was the right hire and molding a bunch of no-names into a cohesive unit. You got to love what he is trying to establish and implement at 6000 J street.
Hornets get a feel-good victory

So he put them up at the Hilton Hotel on Friday night and had them eat breakfast together Saturday, then walk through tailgate parties in the parking lot next to Hornet Stadium.

He gathered his players on the sideline at the end of the half and in animated fashion reminded them they hadn’t done anything to celebrate yet.
