What happened?
November 26, 2007 by admin
After the football season, I intended to hang up the blog for various reasons until next year. I recently noticed that sacbuzz.com has disappeared. Hornets fans need somewhere to go to complain, especially about men’s bball. Anyone know what happened to Sacbuzz.com? Do we need to create a new message board?

Thanks for coming back!!!!
As for basketball, this is the last year we’ll have to deal with Jenkins!!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes me very happy. I’m tired of our team looking like a bunch of guys playing a pick up game - Jenkins idea of “Hornet Basketball”. The players deserve a coach that can put them in a position to win, a coach that can make adjustments. I know the gyms sucks, but Fullerton St and Portland St seems to put decent teams with the same type of gym.
JENKINS MUST GO!!
(and don’t leave us again).
As an Aggie fan that enjoys keeping track on the Hornets, thanks for coming back.
First off…. Thanks to SacRat for restarting his blog space as a stop gap. You had some great posts during the football season.
Regarding SacBuzz… Santa has a candidate for his ‘bad’ list in Jconserv.net, the forum service which I started SacBuzz on in Aug ‘05. As of a couple weeks ago, they seem to have suddenly and completely shut down. All their forums, their main page, and their support site have all been offline without any notification that I saw. Jconserv offered some good services, but their uptime ended up being disappointingly spotty at times. In a search of the web, others who had sites hosted by them have encountered the same fate this month. As it was a free forum… I guess “you get what you pay for” applies here.
The timing was admittedly a bit ironic as it coincided with the end of the football season and when SacRat put his blog in to hibernation. Rest assured, it had nothing to do with the forum itself or SuperHornet, the site’s Admin for the past 2 years.
Personally, I have no intent of starting a new site; however, Sac State fans do need a place to discuss the Hornets… if nothing else than as a support group for bad (insert sport) seasons. My hope is that a Sac State fan with the proper time and commitment will be able to establish a fan site / forum that can be around for the long haul.
Go Sac! - iSac
Thanks for the info, iSac.
FYI, I’ve been in discussion with Chris Lynn, founder of BigSkyFans.com. He may be able to host us on his server. I’ve been holding off until I found out what happened to Jconserv and iSac. I’ll post here the new startup date if I can nail one down.
BTW, anyone know how I can get hold of SactoHornetAlum and Green Cookie Monster?
Casey
ISac, thanks for the explanation and kind words. Also, thanks for hosting the previous board, RIP. I will leave this blog up indefinitely as a means for communication. I will also put some research into what it would take timewise and financially to host a message board.
I am here and wondering what happened with SacBuzz. I am also glad we have Sac Rat’s blog to post. Never was a fan of jconserv, but as iSac said, it was free.
I would be willing to pay a fair share of starting a new site. I have some time to contribute, but also have a 16 wk. old baby that is taking up much time.
GCM,
Thanks for checking in. Please email me ASAP: tigercasey@att.net.
I have a tentative agreement to start SacBuzz 2.0 (that’s just a starter name, mind you) co-located with BigSkyFans.com. UNC’s board is co-located there as well. As I said before, I’ll announce a tentative start date here once I get it. However, I want you involved with the planning process, GCM. If you still want to be a mod. You did a great job on SacBuzz 1.0, and I’d hate to lose you.
Casey
I’d be willing to pitch in $$ to help if necessary…need somewhere to go to drown my miseries with like-minded folks
I’m down to chip in too!
